Rotary vane compressors are positive-displacement air compressors where a rotor with sliding vanes turns inside a cylinder. As it rotates, the vanes trap and compress air in pockets that decrease in volume, producing compressed air in a smooth, continuous flow. 🧠 How It Works (Rotary Vane Principle)
In this type of compressor:
Air enters through the intake.
The rotor’s vanes trap air between the rotor and cylinder wall.
As the rotor turns, the trapped air’s volume shrinks, increasing pressure.
Compressed air discharges, and oil separates before final delivery.
The result is continuous, smooth compressed air with minimal pulsation and lower noise compared to many piston-type compressors.
